The Vassar College Office of Health Education will reach out to the Poughkeepsie community this month with workshops on Reiki energy healing and herbal antibiotics, and a Great American Smokeout information table.
On Thursday, November 15, from 10 a.m.-3 p.m., visitors to the College Center's North Atrium will receive information about the Great American Smokeout and can sign abstinence contracts. Participants can join the thousands of others across the country who will pledge to quit smoking on November 15. On Wednesday, November 28, from 4:30-7 p.m., in the Faculty Parlor, Main Building, a registered nurse will lead a workshop on herbal antibiotics. The fee for this workshop is $25.
On Saturday, December 1, from 9 a.m.-5 p.m., in the Jade Parlor, Main Building, a registered nurse will lead a Level One training workshop on the art of Reiki energy healing. Reiki is a technique for stress reduction to improve health and enhance the quality of life. The fee for this workshop, which will lead to a certification as a Level One Reiki practitioner, is $100.
